FAQ
Is online payment on your website secure?
Yes its 100%. We use Shopify e-commerce solution and payments, which is fully pci-compliant. You can get more details here. Moreover, you can pay via PayPal too.
Why is halwa hard as compared to other popular brands?
The authentic taste of Multani Sohan Halwa comes from carefully cooking all the ingredients, especially desi ghee, to perfection. This traditional process gives it a slightly firm texture. If you prefer it softer, simply microwave your desired serving (not the whole pack) for 8-10 seconds. You’ll enjoy a warm, soft treat with the same rich, authentic flavor you love.
Since Halwa is hard, does it mean its old and not fresh?
Absolutely not. A firm texture does not mean the halwa is old or stale. When halwa ages beyond its best-by date, it becomes dry and brittle as the nuts and flour absorb the ghee, losing its unique taste and texture.
Is this Hafiz Multani Sohan Halwa?
No, we offer an authentic Maulana Abdul Wadood Sohan Halwa recipe, renowned for its unique texture and taste. However, we are an independent entity and are marketing our own brand in North America.
Why are our products priced higher compared to other brands imported from Pakistan/India?
Our products are manufactured in Canada using locally sourced, high-quality ingredients. Each batch of Sohan Halwa is meticulously handcrafted and slowly cooked for 5-6 hours. This labor-intensive process, along with premium ingredient sourcing, contributes to the higher price point. In return, our customers receive a fresh, high-quality product free from preservatives and artificial ingredients. Moreover, following are the main factors for higher price:
- There are plenty of nuts inside our Halwa as compared to other brands who put nuts only on the top.
- We use specialty made ghee from farm fresh milk/cream/butter which is key part of the famous Sohan Halwa taste. The commercially available ghee does not provide the same results.
- We prepare our own sprouted wheat flour which is a key ingredient in the Halwa making process (its not available in local market)
I noticed ghee on the surface and inside the plastic bag after opening the halwa. Is this normal?
Yes, this is normal, particularly during summer or if the product was shipped via standard mail. The ghee may melt and surface. If this occurs, simply refrigerate the halwa to restore it to its original state.
Is it safe that the halwa is wrapped in plastic bags?
Yes, it is. The plastic bags used for packaging the Halwa are made of polypropylene, which is approved by the FDA and USDA. They are free from sulfur, amide, amine, silicone, latex, BHT, and PVC.
What is the expiry date of the Halwa?
The "Best Before" date indicated on the box refers to room temperature storage. Beyond this date, if kept at room temperature, the Halwa may lose its distinctive taste, texture, and aroma, becoming dry and brittle. To extend the shelf life of Halwa, refrigeration or freezing is recommended.
Is refrigeration necessary for the Halwa?
If the ambient temperature exceeds 23°C (73°F), it is advisable to refrigerate the Halwa. During summer, refrigeration is recommended regardless of the room temperature.
